2013 seems to be ‘the year of Red Bull’ as Sebastien Vettel takes home win after win. The German driver left Austin Texas with 8 consecutive wins, putting him on course to match Alberto Ascari’s record of 9 straight wins over the 1952 and ’53 seasons. True to form, Vettel celebrated his ninth consecutive win with donuts in front of the main grandstand and champagne spaying on the podium at the final race of the season in Brazil on Sunday. Nothing beats first place, obviously… but we were overjoyed to see Red Bull’s Mark Webber on the podium, ending his F1 career with second place. Webber, who has experienced tough times at Red Bull especially with team mate Vettel, delivered a great performance deserving his spot on the podium. A tough wet race in Brazil meant that every driver needed to be on top of their game. Great performances from Vettel, Webber and Alonso finishing in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. The final championship positions saw Vettel with 397 to Alonso’s 242, Webber’s 199, Hamilton’s 189 and the absent Kimi Raikkonen’s 183, while Red Bull’s final constructors; tally was 596 to Mercedes’ 360, Ferrari’s 354, Lotus’s 315, McLaren’s 122, Force India’s 77 and Sauber’s 57.
